Alaska is one of the late adopters of gambling services. Mostly, you wont find casinos on every street corner due to the the states policy towards gambling. There is one major casino in Alaska where all the poker action takes place. There is a poker room with approximately 20 tables and the action is pretty much mainly holdem.

Poker was recently legalised in the state of Alaska and is considered a progressive step for its state authority. The main reason for the state to legalise poker was two fold: 1)to increase the amount of tax dollars the local goverment will receive and 2) To increase the amount of tourism to the state from abroad and mainly from neighbouring states. Their local governor is states as saying "a fledgling poker room industry will help increase the levels of tourism into the Alaskan state
