Pokerstars have set up a very simple way for their players to make contributions to the relief fund for the Tsunami disaster... You all know about the tragic events as a result of the recent tsunamis in Asia. PokerStars are pitching in with you, our players, to help the victims of this disaster.
They have created some special "tournaments" (not really tournaments, but a simple way for you to contribute) and an account to which you can transfer donations to the relief fund. PokerStars will match every dollar contributed to this fund (currently well over $75,000) until January 11.
Donating is as easy as registering for a tournament or making a player-to-player money transfer. To register for the Donation Tournaments, visit your PokerStars game lobby, click "Tourney" then "Special" and look for "Tsunami Relief." Once there, you may choose to register for $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 or $100. To donate using a player-to-player transfer, click "Requests" at the top left of your game lobby, then click "Transfer Funds." The "player" you want to transfer to is "ReliefEffort" in city "Tsunami Aid Areas". You may transfer any amount you wish.
The amount you register for or transfer will constitute your donation which will help provide medicine, clothing, food and shelter to those affected by the deadly tsunami. Your donation will then be matched dollar for dollar by PokerStars and donated to the International Federation of Red Cross, one of the world's hardest-working and most respected charities.
